So originally, I was looking for a dupe of “You”, by Glossier. That is my favorite scent of all time. Something spicy, tobacco-y, a hint of floral, and a lot of musk and amber. And let me tell you, I am so glad I did. Upon opening this and testing it on my wrist, I was overcome (in a good way)with tobacco and pink pepper. While I don’t smell the vanilla so much, it’s still there and adds to the perfume. A slight floral smell occompanies the warm spice of the cinnamon and Incense leading to a mature,but NOT “old”, unisex smell that had my boyfriend looking around asking what that amazing smell was. If you’re on the fence and are looking for a warm, beautiful, SEXY scent that STICKS, go for this.You won’t regret it. It reminds me of the desert, in a good way. The mystery, spice, warm candlelight, and Incense in the air. I’m convinced this is what Cleopatra would have smelled like.

I am unfamiliar with Tom Ford’s Black Orchid scent. In fact, I stumbled upon this scent while trying to find a unique scent that stands out from my fruity body sprays. At first, I did not like the smell of the first spray. But I fell in love with it after it dried down on my skin. Now I understand that there are factors that effect how eau de parfume smells on people’s skins, but this bottle just worked for me. The Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Patchouli, and Mandarin notes come off as strong on my skin. The different notes combined somehow remind me of my father’s creed colognes but with a more feminine take. Sometimes it reminds me of what a sophisticated Coca-Cola would smell like.
